Golf

There’s debate about who originated golf, whether it’s the Chinese over 2000 years ago or the Ancient Romans who played “paganica”, a ball game that transformed once they reached Scotland.

Nowadays, golf is played by nearly 40 million worldwide according to the R&A and continues to expand, albeit controversially but Scotland still remains the modern homeland of the sport.

The International Golf Federation (“IGF”) is the international governing body for golf across the world while the R&A plays a major role in golf such as organising The Open Championship and owning R&A Rules Limited, one of the other governing bodies of golf worldwide.

Tiger Woods makes joint-record 23rd consecutive cut at The Masters. He ties with Fred Couples and Gary Player for the longest streak in the tournament’s history.
