Motor Sports

Motor sports have been around since the late 19th century, when the first racing competition was organised. It was a 126km (78.29 miles) race named Concours Paris-Rouen or the Paris-Rouen Trial and it ran from the Porte Maillot in Paris, to Rouen on 22nd July 1894.

Fast forward a few centuries and we have the fastest cars in history and billions of dollars to make these vehicles and races entertaining for racers and spectators. Most of these sports are governed by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile or “FIA”, and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme or “FIM”, both founded in 1904.

Motor sports encompasses sports such as Formula 1 (and other formula racing series), rallying, rallycross, kart racing, touring car racing, and motorcycle racing.
