FIFA World Cup
This tag page covers both the FIFA Men’s World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The former, often known as “the World Cup”, is an international soccer tournament contested by men’s national teams who are members of FIFA. It is held every four years with Argentina winning the last edition in 2022, beating France in arguably the greatest final of all time. Qatar were the last hosts, amid controversy due to a whole lot of stuff I won’t go into here but let’s just say: corruption.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup is an international soccer tournament contested by women’s national teams who are also members of FIFA. It is held every four years and one year after the men’s edition. The USA won the last edition in 2019, beating the Netherlands in the final. France were the last hosts. In 2023, Australia and New Zealand will jointly host the competition for the first time.
