Ronnie O’Sullivan wins his 8th Masters title

Congratulations to Ronnie O’Sullivan on his EIGHTH Masters title. He beat Ali Carter 10–7 in a tense final which saw Carter lead 6-3 going into the evening session. Despite the deficit, Ronnie O’Sullivan dug deep, in his own words, and brought it back to 6–6, then 7–7 before taking the final three frames of the match.

Carter could hold his head up high though, coming away with the most centuries ever from a single player at a Masters tournament (8), and his form in this tournament and in the last few months stands him in good stead going into the last few months of the season.

Ronnie’s win leaves him with 23 Triple Crown titles (the collective name for the World Championships, the UK Championships, and the Masters). If he wins the World Championships this year, he’ll be on 8 wins in all competitions which would be a unique record. Speaking of records, Ronnie is now both the youngest and oldest ever winner of the Masters.
