Coco Gauff defeated Aryna Sabalenka 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 to win her first US Open title and her first grand slam overall. The 19 year old came from a set down to become the youngest American female US Open champion since Serena Williams. It wasn’t a clean match for either player but Gauff made it count with a better 2nd serve win rate, break point conversion, and overall points won.
