I once said that baseball made for good ambient background noise to one person who I knew wouldn’t rip me to shreds for it. It’s not a sport I’ve paid much attention to due to time zones and literally anything else I could be doing besides sleep. But I do enjoy the movie Moneyball as flawed and “Hollywood” as it may be to some. This scene, for me, is like ASMR. It’s soft, ambient, non-offensive dialogue that pulls you in just enough to engage but not so much that you might want to quote it or create a meme.
