The Numbers Game: Andy Murray

Andy Murray fist pumping
The epitome of never giving up

With Andy Murray’s retirement after his doubles exit at the 2024 Paris Olympics, I thought I’d do a Numbers Game entry for him. He might not have the stats of Roger Federer or Serena Williams but his career has been incredible given the stature of British male tennis players before him, especially playing in an era with the three greatest players of all time.

So let’s look at those numbers!

(As of 2nd August 2024)

  • 64,677,584 – Andy’s prize money earnings (in dollars)
  • 739 – Number of professional wins in his career
  • 709 – Total number of weeks in the top 50 (from 20th February 200611th June 2018)
  • 200 – Number of matches won in Grand Slams
  • 41 – Total number of weeks spent as World Number 1
  • 105 – Number of Top 10 wins
  • 46 – Number of career titles
  • 73.8 – Career win percentage
  • 76 – Number of sets won 6-0 (aka a “bagel”)[1]
  • 209 – Number of sets won 6-1 (aka a “breadstick”)[1]
  • 2 – Number of double bagels[1]
  • 1 – Number of triple bagels[1]
  • 3 – Number of Olympics medals
  • 2 – Number of Olympics gold medals in singles
