Big up Teddy Riner on winning his fourth Olympic gold medal, which he won in the Men’s +100 kg event in judo. Nicknamed “Big Ted” due to his stature (he’s 6’8″, or just over 2m tall, and about 315 lb, or 143 kg), he has also won 11 World Championships gold medals and 5 European Championships gold medals

Born in Guadeloupe in the Caribbean, Teddy spoke to Olympics.com about his goals and what drives him:

“I have already won all the possible gold medals. If there isn’t something exciting, that will make you want to continue and strive for a new record, that makes you train harder, more intensely, in different ways, in another manner. It becomes complicated. But when you find that, it gives you something sparkling, explosive.”
